Fitted Underground's Sashiko Pants are a special run of their classic Dean fit, with a mid-rise and slight taper through the legs. This Japanese sashiko fabric comes from the famed Collect Mill in Okayama, Japan and is one of the heavier sashiko fabrics we've come across at 16oz. The fabric comes in a deep indigo at first, but with wear and washes it will certainly lighten to a sky blue.
*** As of November 2024, the D16 Sashiko Pants pattern has been modified to have a more accommodating fit in the hip and thighs. If you previously tried on the D16 prior to this, these will fit with a bit more room in the top block. ***

Note: Generally runs on the smaller end of sizing. We recommend taking your typical denim size if you are on the smaller end of your sizing, or prefer a slim fit, or taking one up from your typical size for a more accommodating yet still slim fit. If you have large thighs or are on the middle-to-larger end of your size, you may want to take the larger size regardless. The Dean (D) fit is described as a mid-rise, straight leg fit, with a slight taper from the knee to the leg opening. These are sanforized, but not pre-rinsed. Expect minimal shrinkage with cold wash and hang dry. Any shrinkage with cold wash and hang dry should come back out (stretch) with wear. The waist may stretch up to 0.5" with tension.
Model: 6'0" and 175 lbs (currently closer to 170 lbs) wearing size 32 for a slim fit, snug but generally not uncomfortable fit in the waist, and room through the legs. At 175-180 lbs, model would likely go for size 33 as the thighs would be too tight.
