Iron Heart newest N-1 Deck Jacket in the Olive Oiled Whipcord is an upgraded version of their N-1, with an improved water-resistance application to help those in wetter climates. Due to the difficulty in getting whipcord to absorb the oils, the weight of this N-1 Deck Jacket has gone up from their standard 12oz weight, to a 14oz whipcord. Our photos of the IHM-37-ODG appear more yellowish/tan than actual. The jacket is indeed more of an true green-olive color. See the very last photo that is taken from Iron Heart's forums for a better representation of the color. The Iron Heart IHM-37-ODG Oiled Whipcord N-1 Deck Jacket takes queues from the original N-1 Deck Jackets produced for the US Navy back in the 1940s. The Iron Heart version remains true to the original jackets, but with an additional interlining to increase wind resistance. Made from a durable cotton whipcord shell and a special wool/alpaca lining interior, this jacket cuts no corners.

Note: We generally recommend taking your typical American brand size for a comfortable fit with some room to layer underneath. This generally will equate to taking one size down from your typical Iron Heart flannel/shirt size. However, if you want a slim fit and plan to only wear with a t-shirt or light layer underneath, you can take a size down from your typical American brand size. However, if you have a longer torso you may want to double check the length as it may result in a slightly short jacket on the body. For the posted measurements, keep in mind that this is a hefty garment, so the exterior measurements noted should probably be a little larger than what you are thinking (the lining and whipcord will probably take up about 0.5" total in width). No shrinkage expected, hand-wash only.
Model: 6'0'' and 175 lbs. wearing size M for a comfortable fit with room to layer thicker pieces underneath (heavier sweatshirts, Ultra Heavy Flannel, etc.). The Medium fits a bit roomy around the chest and shoulders, and through the arms. However, the length on the body is good.
