The Iron Heart A2 Deck Jacket in an Oiled Whipcord for a very warm jacket that has the added benefits of water-resistance. This jacket is a classically styled piece, inspired from the early 1960s A2 Deck Jacket, and features a zipper front with a button placket over top, and functionality with its side hand warmer pockets and single chest pocket. The jacket's internal wool lining has a notable opening at the armpit for added breathability.
Due to the difficulty in getting whipcord to absorb the oils, the weight of this A2 Deck Jacket has gone up from their standard 12oz weight, to a 14oz whipcord. If you're looking for a solid warm jacket to take you through the harshest of winters, look no further.

Note: We generally recommend taking your typical American brand size for a comfortable fit with some room to layer underneath. This generally will equate to taking one size down from your typical Iron Heart flannel/shirt size. However, if you want a slim fit and plan to only wear with a t-shirt or light layer underneath, you can take a size down from your typical American brand size. However, if you have a longer torso you may want to double check the length as it may result in a slightly short jacket on the body. For the posted measurements, keep in mind that this is a hefty garment, so the exterior measurements noted should probably be a little larger than what you are thinking (the lining and whipcord will probably take up about 0.5" total in width). No shrinkage expected, spot-clean only by hand; do not recommend the jacket be washed or dry-cleaned due to the wax.
Model: 6'0'' and 175 lbs (currently closer to 170 lbs) wearing size M for a comfortable fit with room to layer thicker pieces underneath (heavier sweatshirts, Ultra Heavy Flannel, etc.). The Medium fits a bit roomy around the chest and shoulders, and through the arms. However, the length on the body is good. Model can also fit in the size S for a slim fit, a little snug in the shoulders and upper body, but not too tight at all. The length in the size S is decent. Overall, model would prefer the size S as he would do minimal layering with this jacket (just a t-shirt or light layer underneath), and the slimmer fit suits his style a little better.
