The Sumi Black edition of the orSlow New Yorker Pants in Ripstop maintains all the easy-going feels and fits of their NY Pants, but in a blacked out version. orSlow New Yorker pants features elastic waistbands that allow for a comfy fit, and spacious room throughout the top body and thighs for when you just need to get in some lunges. These have a strong taper and are cropped at the ankle for a breezy pair of pants.
Color: these are not a true black, but an off-black or dark charcoal.
Note: The New Yorker Pants have a very spacious and roomy top block, and with the high rise, means these generally will feel large in the top block. Accordingly, most folks can probably size down for a slimmer fit. Measurements of the waist are provided with a lower and upper range, with the lower being the waistband (front and back rise) pulled even at the top, but at rest; and the upper end with the band pulled taut with minimal effort. Because of the elastic band, the waist measurements are a good fit range, but can be smaller (using drawstrings) or larger (if you really wanted to pull it to the extreme). Put another way, if you own the orSlow Slim Fit Fatigue Pants in Green, you can take another size down for a similar fit (e.g. if you wear size 3 in the Slim Fit Fatigue Pants, take size 2 in the New Yorker). Note that the New Yorker Pants fit much more spacious in the top block as noted above, and as you go down in size, the leg opening and overall inseam length get smaller. Recommend machine wash cold, hang dry.
Another way to approach sizing is translating as follows:
1 | S - 30 Waist
2 | M - 32 Waist
3 | L - 34 Waist
4 | XL - 36 Waist
5 | XXL - 38 Waist
Model: 6'0'' and 175 lbs, with moderate "lifter" thighs, wearing size 2. Model can also wear size 1 for an even slimmer fit but a tad more restricted in the thighs/top block and not as comfortable.
