For a premium long-sleeve merino wool tee, Merz b. Schwanen's 2W15LS is the standout winner. Made on original loopwheeler machines, these are lightweight and airy, making these excellent for travel days or wherever life takes you. Breathable, moisture-wicking, temperature-regulating, and odor-resistant, these are pretty much the pinnacle of what a travel tee should be. As usual with Merz knits, it features a round crew neckline and a triangle insert under the armpit for maximum comfort. Made on original loopwheelers in Germany-one of two remaining loopwheeler operations in the world, the result is a seamless tubular fabric that will be your most comfortable tee.
Please note that these tees have a loose knit and have a lot of give/stretch to them. If measurements seem slightly smaller than you typically wear, that might be okay given the stretch. Also, the fabric is very lightweight and feels somewhat like an undergarment. If you're looking for something substantial, this is not the tee.
Note: These have been pre-rinsed and should not experience much shrinkage upon wash. However, we still recommend a cold wash and hang dry.
Model: Model is 6'0'' and 175 lbs (currently closer to 165 lbs) wearing size 6 | L (one size up from his regular TTS, M) for a comfortable fit, neither too slim nor too relaxed. At 175 lbs, model would still wear size 6 | L for a slimmer fitting tee.
Measurement Note: Due to the irregularities characteristic of loopwheelers, there will be slight variations within each size. Additionally, consistent with how Merz measures their shirts, the Length measurement is taken from the highest point of the shirt (where the neckline and shoulder meet), instead of from the center of the neckline. In general, we do not find the irregularities significant enough to impact the size you should wear.
