Schott for 3sixteen's fourth annual collaboration includes both a new custom Horween Chromexcel Horsehide leather and a new jacket silhouette in the form of this modified A-2 Flight Jacket. 3sixteen mulled through the archives of Schott's past designs and settled upon this A-2 Flight Jacket with a subtle 3sixteen application to the fit and styling. Compared with Schott's traditional Flight Jackets, these have been lengthened in the body while still maintaining the higher-waisted look of your typical Flight Jacket. As well, hidden side entries to the front flap pockets were included for extra functionality. A detachable sheepskin collar rounds out some of the major modifications.
The custom Horween leather is a beautiful tea-core chromexcel horsehide. The leather starts out black but exhibits brown undertones as it is worn. The leather is extremely soft and supple, and made to have a more matte/weathered appearance than traditional chromexcel - that might have more pull-up and shine. This one is sure to age well and have a lot of variation in the blacks and browns as it gets worn in.
Note: Jacket runs large. We recommend most customers take one size down if you want a slimmer profile for the leather jacket. If you are on the large end of your typical 3sixteen tops size, you may take your standard size if you feel like you want a slightly more relaxed fit and/or prefer to have some heavier layers underneath. But otherwise, we recommend most size down one.
