The last of its kind, the Crust (Toscanello) Horsebutt Oxford returns in a second - and final - iteration of the original Viberg Franklin 145 Oxford. With this pair, we've utilized Maryam's Toscanello Horsebutt, which is their version of Horween's Crust Horsebutt, and altered the sole to have a Vibram 705 Tygum Rubber Half Sole. Otherwise, all the other details are the same. These come freshly polished from the factory with Venetian Shoe Cream for a deeper and richer appearance from the start.
Similar to the Horween Crust Horsebutt, the Maryam's Crust leather is also quite inconsistent, exhibiting much variability from section to section, pair to pair. The Maryam tends to have less blemishes, but does seem to have more noticeable natural stretch marks - something that we love - and more insect bites - not as desirable, but not as noticeable at the same time.
Similar to the original Franklin 145 Oxfords, we think these will age beautifully and develop a rich patina. Please note that the official leather name is Toscanello Horsebutt, which is the name written on the Viberg shoebox; however we have decided to refer to it as Crust Horsebutt just to keep the references similar to the original Franklin 145 Oxford.
The 145 Oxford Shoe is based off of the mid-1900s Oxfords. More of a work shoe than a dress shoe; more of a workhorse than an elegant stallion; and a little more chunky than their Derby's, which culminates everything into a true heritage work shoe appearance.

Sizing: We recommend sizing down one from your Brannock device size (e.g. 10D Brannock, Size 9 in the 145 Oxford). However, if you already have a well-fitting 1035 145 Oxford or 2030/1035 Service Boot, we'd generally recommend taking your usual size.
