Our first in-house Withered Fig Boot Co. Service Boot, built completely from the sole up, comes in a Snuff Calf Suede leather in our 5301 Last. Somewhat modeled after the original Viberg for Withered Fig, Marvington I, we made some subtle changes to make this uniquely ours while paying homage and honoring the design and aesthetics of the Viberg Boot Co. team. The sole is a sturdy custom-molded Vibrom sole made out of premo clay. While it is extremely fragile, it is surprisingly flexible, which makes this boot perfect for in-house, high-pile or shaggy carpet wear. For those familiar with our other boot offerings, we opted for a Tobacco Chamois tonal leather tongue to break up the overall look of the boot. Boots are constructed using waxed polyester for ultimate strength and durability, featuring a 360 saddle-stitch construction to secure the upper leather to the midsole, with the Vibrom sole cemented on.
Due to the time-intensive labor required for the construction of these boots (one single boot takes 20+ hours to make, one pair over 40+ hours), our first run is made in only one size, 0000. Accordingly, these are extremely limited and will not be restocked.
Sizing: Size 0000 boots will fit newborn babies from the moment they are born up through 2 months old. Leather may stretch a little as they are worn in, so your newborn baby may be able to wear it up to 3 months. Please consult with your primary care physician or pediatrician for questions on the suitability for your baby to wear service boots.
